Serena and Connor’s engagement session simply has it ALL — the absolute sweetest couple who will be getting married at the Hay Adams later this year; a perfect overcast morning that was followed by stunning blue skies; a gorgeous golden doodle named Louis; and two of my favorite venues — DAR Constitution Hall and the Constitution Gardens!
Both Serena and I were cautiously checking the weather — it turned out to work in our favor! She had wanted to visit two locations that were close to one another, but not so close that we could hit them both at “true” sunrise. The second location, Constitution Gardens, is very wide open and bright so I had to warn her that there was a chance we may want to skip it if it ended up being a sunny morning. Well, to our delight, it ended up being overcast — but bright — which makes for the best photos! After wrapping up our portraits at DAR Constitution Hall, we took a short stroll down to the mall to get some iconic views of the Washington Monument with those stunning willows trees!
But, perhaps, the best part of their session was finally getting to meet Louis! We had just met when they were about to pick him up as a puppy, not quite a year ago. He’s grown into the most handsome boy and was so sweet during our session! I was, of course, obsessed with his adorable scarf from the Foggy Dog and loved getting to give him treat after treat for being such a good dog!
As I mentioned above, Serena and Connor will be getting married this December at the Hay Adams hotel in Washington, DC and I’m already looking forward to their big day!
