Alissa and Sam had one of the most unique Lincoln Memorial engagement sessions to date — and that’s saying something, as I shoot here multiple times per month in the warmer season! On the morning of their sunrise session, Washington, DC was experiencing a freak haze storm due to a wildfire that originated all the way in Canada. The haze had been lingering for a few days and we decided to go for it after searching through images on social media. The result? Some truly dreamy photographs that made it look like these two were floating on clouds throughout some of the most iconic spots in the District. These two wanted a session to encapsulate their time in DC and I think we did just that!
While they still live in Washington, DC, they both grew up in Pennsylvania. They both worked remotely and realized this was the perfect time in their lives to experience some place new. After looking at options Philly, Boston, and NYC, the ultimately landed on DC as the right spot for them. They know they won’t be here forever, but they’ve been enjoying their time in the city — eating at all the best restaurants (fellow Le Dip fans, of course!) and exploring the museums. I love this sense of adventure and the idea of picking up your life to try something new (for those of you that haven’t seen Away We Go — check it out!).
Alissa and Sam also love to adventure through travel! They visited Italy for Sam’s 30th birthday and plan to go to Switzerland for Alissa’s in a few years! They are already dreaming up honeymoon destinations and plan to explore parts of the US later this summer!
Enjoy a peek into their hazy Lincoln Memorial engagement session — it’s certainly one of my new favorites!
