Jasmine and Chris were married in a classic black tie wedding at the Hay Adams in Washington, DC. For those not familiar with the Hay, it sits directly behind the White House and boasts one of the most beautiful balconies in all of DC — with a clear view of the White House, Washington Monument, and even the Jefferson Memorial — from it’s patio doors. The only negative that comes with this stunning allure is that the park behind the White House often finds itself subject to a variety of protests and rallies that come through the District. Jasmine & Chris’ weekend was no exception, with roughly 300,000 marching the day of their wedding. Luckily for us, the timing worked out beautifully — we wrapped up all their outdoor portraits just as they were departing their meeting point to march through the city. While we could hear them gathered and chanting behind the White House, it didn’t hinder the outpouring of love that was coming from inside the Hay.
Jasmine and Chris wrote the sweetest vows for one another. My favorite part was when they talked about the four foundation pillars that they wanted to build their marriage upon:
1. Tend to their Connection.
2. Venture into Courageous Conversations.
3. Practice Gratitude.
4. Be Generous
Just by writing out these principles proved they already have such a solid foundation to begin with. Jasmine and Chris are so intentional in everything they do, that I know their marriage will not be any different. It was such a joy to capture this special day for these two kind and loving individuals — enjoy a little peek into some of the merriment below!
