This stunning Georgetown University engagement session was captured on the most beautiful fall day. It was early November and we were coming off of what I can only describe as a month-long cold streak. October’s usual perfect temperatures were few and far between this year, so I was fully preparing Maria and Landon on what to wear and bring for a chilly sunrise session. To all of our delight, we didn’t need any of that as it was actually almost balmy (I changed into one of my summer dresses later that morning!). We had an ideal temperature all while taking in the most vibrant fall leaves.
These two started dating long distance while she was working at Johns Hopkins and Landon was finishing up his studies at Georgetown’s School of Medicine. If you’re not from the area, you’re probably thinking that Baltimore to Washington, DC isn’t long distance… but if you’ve ever traveled on the beltway you’ll know that the “quick” trip down is nothing but. You basically have to leave before sunrise or after sunset if you want to avoid traffic. They ended up spending most of their time in Georgetown following the pandemic and became well acquainted with this gorgeous part of the District. We even took a trip back to their apartment for old times sake so they could have a few photos in their neighborhood!
Fun fact: Maria and I were both delighted to find out that we grew up in Pennsylvania! Our high schools even played one another’s teams in sports and we were both familiar with all the regional highlights — the best outlets, concert venues, and, of course, Hershey Park :)
It was the most joyful morning for this sweet couple and I’m thrilled to have been able to document this time in their lives!
