While Emily and Max’s engagement session from this November may look like the encapsulation of a perfect fall day, I’m here to let you in on a little secret — it was FREEZING! These two, however, were absolute champs and didn’t complain about the unseasonably could weather one time. After all, they are used to it after living in both Chicago and New York over the past few years, but let me take you back to the beginning.
Max and Emily met while she was attending school and he was working for GM. Life eventually took them to Chicago, where Max is still residing. Emily, however, is an anesthesiology resident and moved to NYC this summer to finish up her final year. They are hoping to get back to DC — where Max grew up — when all is said and done, but you never know where you’ll end up!
These two don’t just live in cold areas, they also LOVE to ski and ice skate — hobbies that both shared before they even met. It was last Christmas when Max suggested they go into town to skate for the evening. The line was unusually long and if you know anything about Max, you’ll know he does NOT wait in lines. But the plan was in place and he knew this is where he wanted to propose. 45 minutes later, they were on the ice when Max “slipped”… and then quickly popped onto one knee to ask Emily to marry him. And the whole event was even caught on someone’s phone, but all this time later, they’ve never received the pictures! So to the random woman at the ice skating rink, if you stumble across this blog, send them over :)
While I can’t guarantee my couples much more than beautiful photos, but I can certainly promise Max and Emily that it will be MUCH warmer for their DAR wedding in DC next July! Already looking forward to it!
