Columbia Country Club Wedding

Meg and Paul were married at the Columbia Country Club, just outside of Washington, DC on a perfect summer day earlier this June. Neither is a fan of the heat, so they planned all their festivities indoors to the delight of their guests. But it turned out to be of those spring-feeling June days where family and friends didn’t mind being outside to capture beautiful portraits on the grounds of this stunning wedding venue.

If you remember Meg and Paul’s Georgetown engagement session from last year, you might remember their ~~first child~~ adorable dog, Lou, joined us for their portraits. For their wedding, they knew they wanted him to be a small part of their huge moment in their lives, and opted to do a first look where he joined them! I think we all know who Meg was more excited to see ;)

From the outside, their wedding may look like ‘just’ a pretty DC area wedding… I promise you it was anything but. With the help of the fabulous SRS Events, they transformed the country club’s ballroom into a stunning floral garden (flowers by the equally fabulous Love Blooms!) with personal touches throughout. Rather than a fancy cake that looks pretty but tastes… meh.. they choose to self-bring one from their favorite pizzeria (you read that right) in NYC. Their party favors were toothbrushes and toothpaste (Meg’s a dentist!) and dog treats (of course!). And their seating chart had touches of the past twelve years of their lives, as told through photos. It was personal touches like these that made their Columbia Country Club wedding so special.

Meg and Paul, I can’t tell you what a meaningful wedding this was for me to photograph — I’ve been looking forward to this day for the past year and it didn’t disappoint! It’s so clear that everyone who comes into your lives adores the two of you and I can clearly see why! I hope you’re enjoying Italy!
