Elegant Black Tie Congressional Country Club Wedding

Ellen and Jack were set to be married at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC in October 2020. We all know at this point that large events were postponed in 2020, so we hoped for a spring 2021 celebration for these two! When their new date rolled around, the District still had many mandates in place — including that one about no dancing!? — so they ultimately decided that 2022 would be their safest bet for their celebration. After the second postponement in 2021, they Ellen and Jack were officially married in a smaller gathering at St. Aloysius, so they had already tied the knot but deserved the large celebration they hoped for in 2022!

Then, mere weeks before their big day was finally supposed to take place, the Mellon Auditorium cancelled all scheduled events so they were left to look for not only a new date, but a new venue as well! Luckily, Jack and Ellen were in the wonderful hands of Glint Events who handled every turn with the ease only a seasoned professional could. Within days of the latest news, they found them a new venue at the Congressional Country Club. The pivot included adding tents, changing vendors, and so much more, but as you’ll be able to see below, the transition was absolutely seamless.

And Ellen and Jack? These two managed every change with the utmost understanding and kindness. I can’t imagine the whiplash they must have felt over the past 3 years of planning, but they always kept their heads high and showed their entire team nothing but respect. They are the epitome of grace and it was an honor to document this celebration that was so many years in the making!

These two had quite a lot to celebrate too… not only their recent nuptials, but the new that their family would be growing by one in a few short weeks! I’m so excited for Ellen and Jack to experience the joys of parenthood — after what I’ve witnessed them handle the past several years, their calm and collected demeanor and endlessly supportive families prove they are equipped with everything they need.
