Christine and Mike were greeted by a beautiful sunrise for their morning engagement session at the monuments in Washington, DC. In the days prior to their session, the forecast was presenting an ominous set of dark clouds indicating rain on the day of their shoot, but as the date grew closer, the forecast only improved — as it so often does! Weather in DC is unpredictable, to say the least. Often clients anxiously check days, even weeks!, in advance. But my best advice? Wait until the night before as even that can be unreliable!
These two are recent transplants to the area from sunny San Diego with their beloved dog, Bernie. They are strangers to these crazy four seasons we experience here in the District. Luckily for me, they’ve quickly become accustomed to the ever-changing forecast and weren’t worried in the slightest for our session! The result? A stunning sunrise and a session full of golden light! We captured stunning images at some of the prettiest spots in the city.
As I mentioned above, Mike and Christine moved to the Virginia side of DC after Mike accepted a new position in the city. Coming from the West Coast in the middle of the pandemic was a totally new experience for them, but they’ve enjoyed their time exploring their new home. They’ve checked out some of our infamous restaurants (fellow Le Diplomat lovers!) and like to visit the historic sites!
Christine and Mike are planning to get married next year and the plans? Still up in the air! They have several different ideas — all equally fabulous — but one thing is for sure… they want to have a long, relaxing honeymoon!
Enjoy a peek into their sunrise engagement session!
