Conrad Hotel Wedding in Downtown Washington, DC

Marli and Gabe were married at the Conrad Hotel in Washington, DC, amongst their friends and family. Their planner, Brielle Davis, designed a floral-heavy affair that kept the focus on the couple with a neutral palette and chic design.

If you remember their Stone Tower Winery engagement, I talked a lot about how these two got engaged during the peak tulip bloom in Amsterdam, while on vacation with Gabe’s family. Little to her knowledge, Gabe’s family had coordinated with Marli’s to have them secretly watch the proposal and surprise her afterwards. It went off without a hitch, and these two have been enjoying their proposal ever since.

Two themes from that proposal were heavily laced throughout the wedding day. The first was simple: tulips! As a nod to their special location, they wove white tulips through their floral arrangements and bouquets. The other? That’s simple as well: family.

Watching the dynamics unfold on their wedding day, it was clear that these two out the utmost importance on sharing the special moments of their lives while being surrounded by family. They had both of their fathers act as officiant (and did an amazing job, btw!), they included all siblings in their wedding party, incorporated special family dances, and their portrait list was to have everyone included. Finally, one of my favorite memories from the day was when Marli’s dad sang their first dance song. He didn’t just phone it in; this man even had the band clapping for him!
