Earlier this summer, I captured a stunning engagement session for Emma and Lev throughout the lush gardens of the Washington National Cathedral. It was late June, and if you’ve ever been to the DC area in summer, you know the humidity is REAL! Luckily, we got started at sunrise so these two could enjoy the place to themselves… with the exception of all the morning bugs, of course! It was truly a magical session and made me even more excited for their wedding day.
Emma, lover of all things vintage and historic (you should see her amazing decorating style and tea sets — they are to die for!), selected one of DC’s most historic hotels for their big day. She and Lev plan to fill the ballroom with overflowing pink roses, a tiered buttercream cake, and a live band that will play all the classics. They are looking forward to dancing the night away to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Etta James alongside all of their guests.
It turns out that these two are no strangers to a romantic evening at an iconic hotel in the District. During a surprise visit to The Jefferson in downtown DC, Lev proposed to Emma in their beautiful bridal suite. She excitedly said yes, and then two of them headed downstairs to celebrate over a quiet dinner. Except that quiet dinner for two? Well, that was Lev’s next surprise! He hadn’t just planned a dinner for two; he had planned an entire celebration! All of their friends and family were waiting downstairs to greet the newly engaged couple with cheers and champagne. After hugs, photos, and a whirlwind of congratulations, they finally capped off the night with that fabulous private dinner.
With their wedding day right around the corner, I’m looking forward to celebrating with these two, alongside their friends and family, later this fall!
