I remember leaving Kaylie & Jake’s Raspberry Plain Manor wedding in 2019 and joking to Robbie that he was next… See, I had previously photographed his sister Kristine’s wedding to Will at the Thomas Birkby House back in 2017, then just wrapped up his other sister’s wedding that evening. Robbie was the youngest of the three and still single, so I was hoping to get to reunite once more with this sweet and kind family I had come to know and love over the years.
You can simply imagine my delight years later when I received Kelly’s email in my inbox, letting me know that Robbie had just proposed to her! During their trip to Europe, they first stopped in London where Robbie had a romantic picnic planned. Shortly into their lunch, he asked her to marry him and they were able to spend the rest of their trip enjoying their engagement-moon :)
I was equally excited when planning out the engagement session details with Kelly. She wanted a chic city vibe for their session, while still being able to identify the backdrop as DC with the iconic monuments. We arrived at the Lincoln about 30 minutes for sunrise to grab some trendy flash images in the dark. From there, we caught the sunrise coming up over the Reflecting Pool, followed by not one, but two bottles of champagne on the Mall! Despite it being a chilly November morning, we had the best time capturing their engagement and I think that’s a testament to what a fun, caring couple these two are!
Kelly & Robbie will be married next October and I’m already excited to have a reunion with Robbie’s family and finally meet Kelly’s!
