Dallas and Amber’s love story is one of a near missed opportunity. These two met over a decade ago in Washington state, all the way back in high school, during a Driver’s Ed class. They became quick friends and were both interested in exploring a relationship until Amber had to move away. After high school graduation, Dallas joined the Army which took him away from home as well. When his four years ended, he moved across the country to Washington, DC to start getting his degree at American University. He and Amber reconnected and this time, they didn’t let distance keep them apart. They decided to give it a true go and Amber was the one moving across the country to Washington, DC.
They’ve been in the District together for several years — minus a brief period in New York City for graduate school — and have loved their time here. Dallas recently accepted a new job located on the west cost, so they are bittersweetly saying goodbye to head back home. They’ll be living in Seattle proper but figured that an engagement session among the iconic monuments of DC would be the perfect way to commemorate their time on the east coast. In fact, within a matter of weeks, these two: got engaged, did engagement photos, packed up their apartment, visited London, and flew back to Washington to start their new jobs! I’m sure it’s been a whirlwind, to say the least, but in the best way possible. These two will be married in the summer of 2024 and are excited to plan… after a bit of well-deserved time to settle in to their new home!
Winter in DC is just as beautiful because the monuments never change! Enjoy a few other wintery events:
