Yesterday I released my fourth session from The Portrait Project and I get so excited whenever they go live. Trust me, I love being a Washington, DC wedding photographer more than anything, but having a passion project is important to keep your creative juices flowing. Each woman that I’ve shared has shown that beauty comes in so many different forms, each one as stunning as the last. I want to bring this feeling to as many women as I can over the coming year and am sharing some frequently asked questions below to see if this might be a good fit for you! You can also view past sessions here!
First things first — The Portrait Project is open to women of all ages, colors, orientations, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc. Diversity is appreciated and always welcome!
Do I have to actually get nude?
YES! But not in the manner you would think… the portrait project just refers to going makeup free, but a fresh face is absolutely required.
What would I wear?
To keep the session focused on your natural beauty, simple and neutral garments are requested. While this is NOT a boudoir session in any sense, many women like keeping their choices to a minimum to show off exactly what makes them who they are — brave and fearless.
How long is the session?
Sessions are scheduled in one hour blocks so you have time to get comfortable in front of my camera; I promise, it’s fun and not at all intimidating
Will I receive the images you take?
Absolutely! I shoot two rolls of black and white film; once they are processed and developed by the amazing team at The FIND Lab, I will share the digital files with you!
How much does the session cost?
It has been a passion of mine to get women comfortable in their own skin, so for now, I am offering them at no cost.
I’d love to chat with you if you think The Portrait Project is something you’d be up for! I already have four more sessions completed to roll out in 2017 and hope to add even more. Please e-mail me at Alicia@AliciaLaceyPhotography.com to get your session scheduled!
