Welcome to my blog, where I share highlights of everything from my client's wedding days and portrait sessions, to recent features and our adventures around the world.

Hi, I'm Alicia.

Safari Inspired Wedding Decor

Apr 21, 2021

If you’ve taken a look around my website or visited my Instagram feed, it’s no secret that I’m completely in love with all things neutral. My house, my work, my client’s aesthetic pretty much all falls in line with this idea, which is incredible — there is nothing better than getting to photograph what you love! But every now and then, it’s refreshing to do something completely different. After all, I think that’s part of what makes us better artists — being able to step outside our comfort zone and do something new.

It’s this very idea that has made me love doing this series of shoots for BBJ Linen so much with Stephanie at SRS Events. Stephanie is always thinking outside the box and coming up with visions I couldn’t have dreamed of! Luckily for me, I often get the pleasure of photographing them and had the joy of doing so for four different looks. If you haven’t been following along, head back to check out the Fall Garden, Great Harvest, and Holiday inspired wedding decor that I’ve shared over the past few months. Each one is so different and yet so beautiful.

When Stephanie said we would be doing a safari themed table, I may or may not have raised an eyebrow, but having worked with her so often over the years, I, of course, trusted her wholeheartedly. And she certainly did not disappoint. The luscious flowers designed by Eight Street Tree were jaw dropping, to say the least. It might just be one of the most stunning centerpieces I’ve ever seen and that’s saying a lot (side note, I got to take this one home with me and was ECSTATIC — styled shoot perks!). Stephanie kept the overall feel of the tablescape feminine with floral plates and delicate silverware, but used adorable animal napkin rings to tie the entire theme together!

It’s a bitter sweet feeling to be sharing the last, but as you probably guess, it might just be my absolute favorite — so, enjoy!
