Chances are, if you’re a past ALP couple, you’ve probably met Emily! She is the amazing photographer behind Emily Marie Photography and I am also lucky enough to have her as a second shooter for the majority of my weddings each season! I love working with this girl and sweet spirit; she treats all of my clients as if they were her own… and always makes sure I am eating and drinking enough to get me through the day. I could literally go on and on about Emily, but, of course, this post isn’t about OUR relationship, but hers and Greg!
Through working together so much, I felt like I already knew Greg but had never actually met him in person. They were first introduced by her roommate and spent the night chatting over drinks. He invited her out on an official date the following week and I guess you could say the rest is history!
Fast forward a year and half, to this Christmas Eve. I hop on Facebook to see a photo of Greg kneeling in front of Emily! Before I could even read the caption, I texted her immediately to rejoice in the good news! She said that before Christmas Eve service, they stopped for coffee and walked through town to enjoy all the festive lights of the season. Ironically, Emily only moments before made a comment to him about how she hasn’t seen any holiday proposals so far and without missing a beat, Greg responded that it was probably because they are so cliché. It was the perfect way to throw her off his scent because within minutes, he asked her to marry him!
Emily and Greg are getting married this September at Rixey Manor in Rixeyville, VA. I so dearly love all my couples, but don’t think I’ve ever been so honored to capture a couple’s big day. Meeting Greg for their engagement session at Oatlands was the icing on the cake — it became clear within minutes that these two are made for one another. I cannot wait to celebrate the big day with this sweet pair in just a few months!
