I think if you’ve ever met me in person, you’d know that saying I’m a dog lover is a bit of an understatement. Sure, you can tell from social media that I love our dog, but truly, I’m slightly obsessed with all dogs! I’m that person that stops strangers to ask if they can pet their dog. And my weakness? A naughty puppy who likes getting into some mischief!
So you can simply imagine my excitement when Kristine and Will told me they would be bringing their puppy, a french bulldog, to our engagement session this spring in Georgetown! Cleo wasn’t naughty in the least; in fact, I think you’ll find in the images below, she was one of my all time best dog models! I love when couples bring their dog to our session — not just because I get to dote on them! — but because I know it’s a big part of their relationship and this time in their lives!
These two are prepping for their big day at the Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg, VA. It’s a day that’s been in the making since they first met at a concert in Richmond, VA that they both attended with mutual friends. Will, jokingly, asked him to marry her that night but she politely declined. Six years later, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea together in Santorini, he asked her again and this time she said yes. If that isn’t the most romantic sight, I’m not sure what is! They agreed it was the perfect proposal as it was both private and intimate, true to who they are as a couple.
Kristine and Will, I cannot wait to celebrate with you this September and meet your incredible families that have been so helpful throughout the planning process! Now if only we can figure out how to sneak Cleo into some of your wedding photos…. :) :)
