KC and Andrew were married in a stunning Washington, DC wedding that took us all over this gorgeous city. From their romantic first look at the National Portrait Gallery, to their traditional ceremony at St. Matthews Cathedral, to the iconic DC War Memorial for formal portraits and finally to the stunning National Museum of Women in the arts for dinner, dancing, and fun! And somehow, in spite of all those locations and travel, there wasn’t a single hiccup. Rachel with A. Griffin Events and her entire team had the day perfectly planned to a “t” and it went off without a hitch. Truly, I honestly couldn’t think of one thing that we could’ve done better… traffic was light, the weather was beautiful and everything was on time. I remember overhearing a passerby whisper during KC and Andrew’s first look, “it’s like a dream” and it was, it really was.
That should’ve come as no surprise, however, as working with these two throughout the entire planning process has been a dream. KC is so incredibly organized and detail-oriented; she was on top of everything I asked and we knew exactly what her day would look like months in advance. It’s funny because, looking back, I *almost* didn’t get to work with these two. See, I have a self-imposed rule that each month I have at least one Saturday off just to ensure I have some time to breathe. I had 5 weddings over 4 weekends booked in June and, with June having five Saturdays this year, my last one open was June 16th so I had it marked off on my calendar as “OFF”. Well, KC sent me over the nicest inquiry and told me she was referred to me by one of my favorite brides, Darcy (you may remember her Willard Intercontinental wedding). We hit it off immediately and before I knew it, I removed that “OFF” designation and was ecstatic to fill its place with “KC & Andrew’s Wedding”. I actually don’t think I ever even told them that story, but I wanted to share because it’s a testament to how wonderful these two are — they build up everyone around them and pour out so much love. I think you’ll see in the photos below just how infectious their joy is and it was really an honor to be part of this day.
So thank you, to KC & Andrew, for letting me be part of your stunning DC wedding and getting to know you over the past year. Enjoy a limoncello for me in Amalfi!
