Carling and Dakota celebrated their 5-year wedding anniversary with a stunning vow renewal at the Meridian House in Washington, DC on an idyllic spring day. The spring weather in DC is completely unpredictable; it can be sunny and warm one day and then freezing and raining the next. That’s exactly what happened the week of their wedding celebration — the days leading up were chilly and frequented with showers. The day of their Meridian House wedding, however? That day was perfect. And no, not just the kind of ‘perfect’ that vendors always talk about to their client to make them feel better… but actually, truly perfect. Not hot. Not cold. Not windy. Instead it was comfortable and inviting, which suits these two, well, perfectly.

These two have been together since they were teenagers. Having already celebrated five years with one another and being the parents to two beautiful daughters, you can tell they know one another like the back of their hand. The love and support they provide to one another is unmatched. And, despite this level of comfort, I adored how Dakota was still nervous to watch Carling walk towards him down the aisle.

It should go without saying that I aim to serve all my clients to the best of my ability, but any wedding professional will tell you that the pressure feels doubly so when serving another wedding professional! Carling and Dakota, however, never once made anyone on their team feel less than. In fact, we remarked how we were treated more like guests than a vendor team. They are the most inviting duo who make you feel loved from the minute you see them.
