This October, I had the pleasure of capturing Ashley & Dave’s engagement session at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC. The fall morning was crisp, the sunlight golden, and the monument’s iconic columns framed the couple’s love story beautifully. Their outfits reflected their sophisticated style —Ashley in a chic ivory two piece set and Dave in a tailored suit. The natural beauty of the surroundings, combined with the couple’s elegance, made for an intimate and timeless photo session that perfectly captured their connection.

While the stunning outfits and perfect morning light were certainly highlights, the best part of the session was getting to know this charismatic couple. Ashley and Dave were excited to share some (faux, but you’d never know!) champagne during their portraits. As we prepped to pop the bottle, we quickly discovered it had a cap instead! Lacking a bottle opener, I loved watching them collaborate to find a solution. With a set of keys and a random sign, they managed to make it work! Their teamwork and playful spirit truly made the moment unforgettable.

As they look ahead to their wedding in Italy, Ashley continues to explore different regions, each with its own charm, whether it’s the rolling hills of Tuscany, the romantic coastal views of the Amalfi Coast, or the historic grandeur of Rome. Though the location is still a work in progress, one thing is certain: Ashley and Dave’s wedding will be a celebration of love, culture, and the beautiful moments they continue to create together.
