Amanda and Brian’s Carnegie Institution for Science wedding is now featured on District Weddings! Being featured on a wedding blog is nothing short of an honor. There are literally thousands of wedding photographed every single weekend, and that’s just in VA and DC! So you can imagine the number of submissions any blog gets on a daily basis. I would be completely overwhelmed, to say the least, because there are so many unique ideas and beautiful affairs these days that it would be incredibly hard to narrow it down to just a few that get accepted. So any time I get so lucky to hear the “Yes!” from a blog editor, I am over the moon. It’s such an incredible feeling to know that I get to share the vision of my bride and groom with the audience of a particular blog in the hopes of inspiring their big day.
But as great as all that is, that’s certainly not why I am a Washington, DC wedding photographer. I love shooting because I love telling stories. I often get inquiries asking for just a few hours or ceremony only coverage and I always decline. Why? Not because there is something wrong with that, there absolutely is not and there is a photographer out there who LOVE short weddings. For me, I enjoy getting to work with a couple over a 9-18 month period, capture their love during their engagement session, develop a timeline, provide vendor recommendations, until finally, I get to watch the actual day unfold. That’s what brings me joy and I have been blessed to find so many couples who are looking for the same experience, like Amanda and Brian. These two were married this January and after delivering their full gallery, I wanted the chance to share not only their images, but their story, with all of DC.
I was beyond ecstatic when Jeanette over at District Weddings wanted to share it as well. Their full feature is live, so please head over to read more here!
