Rings are just one teeny, tiny detail in those that make up a wedding day. As I mentioned in my first post of the Best Of series, they are, of course, a very important one as they are the start of your promise to become partners for life. Trust me, I fully believe that a wedding day is about so much more than just details. It’s about a lifelong commitment and a marriage that will last. And while your ceremony should focus on all of those wonderful things, your wedding should also be fun too! After all, it is a celebration! A huge part of that celebration are the details. Brides (or their amazing wedding planner!) think, tirelessly for months, about perfecting each and every one. So that everything from the brides’ shoes and bouquet match the theme and feel of the entire wedding day.
I love arriving early to the bridal suite to see the “spread” of details awaiting me on the bed. It truly sets the tone for the rest of the day and begins to tell the story of this marriage. From there, we head to the ceremony location to see what items of significance grace the spot where you will say, “I do.” And finally, and perhaps my favorite of them all, is the reception venue. I always get the chills when I walk into that room for the first time because it’s there that the bride’s vision comes to life in it’s fullest form. I take a moment to just take it all in — everything from the towering centerpieces and perfectly coordinating charger plates to the 5-tier cake surrounded by flowers matching your bouquet. Part of me already has a clue of what to expect based on those details from earlier in the day, but finally seeing the big picture first helps me dive in to all those smaller details to tell the entire story of this room. Enjoy some of my favorite details from my 2016 weddings below!
