3 Must-Have Ring Boxes

Feb 14, 2017

Any past or current bride knows that the majority of wedding planning revolves around one thing: DETAILS, details, details! Everything from the flowers and the cake down to your shoes and even what nail polish color you’ll be wearing is meticulously planned. And as a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I’ve come to appreciate all these extensive details as they help define your wedding day and make it stand out from the rest in this amazing city. One very small, but impactful item that brides have been incorporating recently are decorative ring boxes. With so many kinds out there to choose from, I wanted to share my three favorites so you can decide which you’d like to bring along to your wedding day!

1. The Mrs. Box
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen one of these on the pages of Style Me Pretty. For those of you that haven’t, the Mrs. Box is a small, velvet ring box that comes in a variety of gorgeous colors. Each one is individually handmade and can even be monogrammed with your last initial! I have a small collection of four neutral colored boxes that I always bring with me on wedding days for brides who don’t have a ring box. But I would strongly urge you to pick up your own if you love these; it’s certainly an heirloom item that you’d treasure forever and you could be certain it’s in one of your wedding colors!

2. Vintage Ring Boxes
These are much harder to come by than a Mrs. Box, but are so worth it when you stumble upon one. It’s fascinating to think about the story behind each one and how it ended up where it is today. Most boxes are imprinted with the jeweler who sold it so long ago and come from far away locations in Europe. I love that each box is so unique in it’s shape, size, and color. Investing in a vintage ring box means you know you will have a truly one of a kind item.

3. Henri Bendel Ring Box
For the more modern bride, I love the Henri Bendel ring boxes as they actually zip shut and would be perfect for travel! I have the striped version which I love for a classic black and white wedding, but they also come in a variety of colors found on their website!

BONUS!
Not all brides are into ring boxes and that is totally okay! There are actually a ton of other cute items to pair your ring with that may better show off your personality or wedding style. A hand calligraphed invitation suite or letter is perfect for the romantic bride. Sweets like chocolate or macarons are also an adorable option to consider!
