I am so grateful to Artfully Wed for selecting Ainsley & Neil’s wedding to be featured on their blog! Ainsley and her family put so much time in to creating the perfect details for her wedding day at their private residence in Orange, VA and I knew it deserved to be showcased; I couldn’t think of a more perfect fit than on Artfully Wed and was ecstatic when it was accepted!

Believe it or not, most of their wedding was DIY, even down to the flowers! I was shocked when I showed up and saw how beautiful they were; not that I ever doubted their talents, but I know floral design is something that requires a lot of skill and isn’t easily learned. I loved the neutral palette the chose that had subtle pops of pink. In true handmade fashion, vintage lace made for the prettiest accents throughout the space. The thing Ainsley loved most about this estate was not just that is was a part of their personal lives, but that it also had a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The kind you see in photos, but can never really place because it’s so tucked away! Their was so tucked away, in fact, that I couldn’t even plug it into a GPS — I had to follow old-fashion hand written directions provided by the mother of the bride! But once you arrive, you know exactly why it was worth it. As the sun set over those mountains, we were treated to a golden hour like no other. This sweet couple was such a good sport about allowing me to take photograph after photograph until the sun had all but disappeared. It was truly a perfect day which is why I was even more excited to have it published on Artfully Wed!
