When I was designing my updated website, I knew one thing for sure: I would heavily feature James and Cady’s wedding all over! Their Army Navy Club wedding with portraits at the Lincoln Memorial and White House was so quintessential Washington, DC. From the neutral color palette, to the black-tie attire, it was perfect from start to finish. And with Tabitha from Roberts & Co Events at the helm, that certainly came as no surprise! We started at the Army Navy Club, then traveled to the Lincoln for couples and wedding party portraits, followed by their ceremony in Georgetown, then a quick stop at the White House for some sunset portraits, and finally back to the Army Navy Club for the celebration! That’s pretty typical for a wedding in DC, so it didn’t phase me one bit, but you definitely need a good planner to help you execute that sort of plan flawlessly!
I was excited to see what they selected for their reception decor after seeing the rest of their big day come to life. They stuck with the neutral blooms at the center of the table, but included some darker accent colors as a nod to the season. They even included a few subtle pumpkins throughout as James just loves those little details! My favorite thing of all, however, were the escort cards. Over the years, Cady’s grandmother collected these delicate, vintage birds. Each one held the name of a guest to greet them at their place setting. It was a truly beautiful way to incorporate her late grandma into their big day and I loved seeing it in person after hearing her describe them at their Chicago engagement session the previous winter.
Please be sure to head over to United with Love to view all of James and Cady’s Army Navy Club wedding feature!
