I’m fairly certain that Nadia & Juan left their Washington National Cathedral engagement session thinking, “man, that girl REALLY loves taking photos!”. And, as you probably can guess, they certainly aren’t wrong! I could shoot endless and, thankfully, my business allows me to do that… but I was in rare form on the morning of their session; I literally could not stop taking photos! Between their natural chemistry in front of the camera, their gorgeous outfits, our stunning backdrop, and the softly overcast light, it was just the perfect storm for some intense photo taking. I felt like I had to apologize to them as I kept saying, “just one more photo” or “just one more spot” over and over again! And after getting the film back, I definitely don’t have any regrets! This is easily one of my favorite sessions for all the reasons above, and these two couldn’t have been better sports. We even wrapped up the session with a well-deserved champagne toast on their end :)

While their love for photos may not quite match mine (kidding!), their love for one another is undeniable; it’s clear in the photos and it’s clear in real life. They met almost 8 years ago at the Puerto Rican Festival & Parade in their hometown of Buffalo, NY. While they didn’t know one another before being introduced by Nadia’s cousin, their parents actually attended school together and even worked with one another! They ended up moving to the DC area for work and just adopted their first puppy, a tiny grey french bulldog named Boujee!

As for the big day? Well, that’s still up in the air! They haven’t quite decided when or where, but wanted to celebrate the engagement and document this time in their lives. It really goes as quickly as everyone says it does, so I’m hoping they just soak in the moment!
