St. Matthews Cathedral & Jefferson Hotel Wedding

Natalia and Seth married late this October the heart of the District of Columbia during a beautiful fall wedding.Natalia and Seth shared their first look at one of my favorite monuments in the city, the DC War Memorial. We had the place to ourselves for this sweet moment, which was more than we could say when we headed to the very popular Lincoln Memorial! And yet, as we weaved through the crowds, I could tell just how much these two were in love as all the people around them seemed to disappear. They then opted for a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Matthews Cathedral, one of the most iconic churches in the city, followed by an intimate reception for just family and a few close friends at the stunning Jefferson Hotel. It was a truly perfect day, as even the long-forecasted rain held off until just after we wrapped up their final portrait.

The longer I have the honor of being a Washington, DC wedding photographer, the more I realize how much I love photographing every different kind of affair. I’ve covered everything from a four-person wedding to 300+ person wedding; Catholic weddings, Jewish weddings, non-religious weddings; weddings without bridal parties, weddings with bridal parties of 15+ on each side… you name, I’ve probably photographed it! I think that is part of what keeps this profession so exciting! Each and every event is so different and reflective of the couple themselves. Sure, their vendors help execute their vision, but our involvement pretty much ends at that — I am simply there to tell YOUR story, whatever the day may bring.
