What could be a more perfect Labor Day weekend than photographing a glam oceanside wedding at Duck Woods Country Club in the Outer Banks of NC? I always think of this as the last weekend of summer, so I was ecstatic to get to spend it on the beach with a bride who totally speaks my language when it comes to details! Her day was seamless from beginning to end; you could immediately tell that no detail was too small as her palette of soft aqua and gold was woven throughout every room of the country club.
But beyond all that, was truly just the love and happiness that tied this day together. Every bride is full of joy on her wedding day, but I don’t think there was a second that Brittany wasn’t smiling. As the forecast changed minute by minute, threatening to storm on her outdoor ceremony, that smile remained. And wouldn’t you know… the rain held out! No more than *10 minutes* (I swear!) after the last guest got inside for cocktail hour, the sky opened up the rain it had been holding in all day for Brittany and Ryan. And then just as quickly as it came, it rushed away so we could have a few portraits on the beach before the reception began. The dance floor was packed until the last song played and guests lit up the sky one more time with the sparklers for the couples’ getaway.
Brittany & Ryan, thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day! You are both so lucky to have families that are clearly so kind and caring — they made us feel so welcomed from the minute we arrived! It was truly an honor and I wish you the best as you start your lives together!
A huge thank you to some of the great vendors who made Brittany & Ryan’s day possible!
