I’ve been blogging for about 1.5 years as a Washington, DC wedding photographer and am quickly nearing my 200th post; in all that time, one thing has always held true — the better I know someone, the harder it is to blog about them! There is just SO much I want to say, and while I know some of you like reading, you’re mostly here for the pictures! Trust me, I totally get it! But I do my best to try to summarize a lengthy friendship into a few sentences and it feels like it can just be near impossible sometimes!
Samira is one of the first people I met when I moved to Washington, DC after college. I started working at GSA in July, 2 months after graduation, and knew almost no one. I had no idea what the federal government would be like, but I was almost certain there wouldn’t be a lot of people my age. Well, I wasn’t too far off, but there were a few! And I was lucky enough to get placed in the same office as Samira, just a cube away. Samira is one of those people you can’t not like; she’s too kind, caring, and thoughtful to think otherwise. But aside from all that, we genuinely just had a blast working together and had very similar interests (including trashy TV and the Shiba Inu puppy cam!). Though we don’t have the pleasure of working in the same office any longer, we still keep in touch and have our monthly Starbucks dates. I’ve gotten to watch Samira marry the love of her life, Tony (another GSA-er, although now former), and build their lives together. They recently purchased their first home and are about to welcome a baby girl in late October! I’m so grateful for her never-ending friendship and cannot wait to watch these two become parents!
