Like so many who live in Washington, DC, Erin and Nick are both transplants from other areas of the country. Erin grew up in Texas and Nick was born and raised in New York. They came to the District after college and even believe their time on the Hill may have overlapped at one point without their knowledge. But it was at karaoke night at Hill Country Barbecue where they officially met for the first time. Both arrived with separate friend groups that knew one another and, ultimately, the rest is history!
Well, maybe for any other time in history… but this was a mere four months before the pandemic hit, so things changed quickly for these two. For the safety of everyone, they limited their pod size, giving them the advantage of getting to know one another quicker than some past relationships. As they are set to be married next spring in Dallas, TX, I would say they clearly found the bright side of this strange time.
As things begin to open back up, they’ve enjoyed traveling to friends’ weddings across the country. They will even be visiting Italy in a few weeks to see Nick’s sister get married (and, of course, take a bit of time to explore themselves as sort of a pre-honeymoon!). They are looking forward to their own celebration in just a few short months and have found planning across states to be a breeze with the help of Erin’s mother! They decided to have a traditional Washington, DC engagement session to honor this time in their lives as a small nod to where they met and fell in love.
Enjoy a peek at one of the prettiest August mornings to date — a balmy sunrise with light clouds that gave us the perfect cover to explore without any harsh light!
