The age old wisdom of, “your wedding day will go by in a flash,” was heard by one of my sweet brides, Lauren, more times than she could easily count. She knew the whirlwind of the big day would preclude her from capturing all those little details that she wanted to cherish forever. And so to compensate for this, she opted to do a boudoir and bridal session beforehand to ensure she could slow down and soak in the moment. I previously shared images her fine art film boudoir session a few weeks ago (if you haven’t already checked those out, you will absolutely want to not miss these tasteful and elegant portraits!) and am excited to delve into the bridal portion of our session further today!
The bridal session took place the historic plantation of Oatlands in Leesburg, VA. This is one of my favorite properties in the area because it boasts such a wide array backdrops for any given shoot. They have seemingly endless gardens complete with a green house, historic home, and epic views. That alone is enough to make any session here gorgeous, but Lauren’s look was what tied everything together. For her bridal portraits, this bride’s elegance and grace were highlighted by her a bespoke Paolo Sebastian gown and blush Valentino heels. The entire ensemble was complemented by a lush bouquet designed by Wild Green Yonder overflowing with peonies and silk ribbons. Her hair and makeup was completed flawlessly by Modern Bridal Studio in Northern, VA. I so enjoyed capturing Lauren’s beautiful spirit and stunning vision for this fine art film bridal portrait session at Oatlands Plantation!
