I think by now it goes without saying that I LOVE my couples… I am so lucky to capture the love of these amazing brides and grooms week after week. By limiting the number of commissions I accept each year, I can ensure that I am able to work closely with each and every one and truly get to know them — that way by the time the wedding day rolls around, it feels like a friend is arriving rather than just “another” vendor. Lauren and Robert are, of course, no exception to that rule except for the fact that I actually have already met and worked with her… at her sister Katie’s Westfields Golf Club wedding all the way back in 2015! So you can just imagine my excitement when I received Lauren’s initial e-mail. There is something so special about being able to reconnect with an entire family from years prior; aside from loving on my couples, I get to love on their families during a wedding day and often, find myself genuinely sad to leave at the end! I’m very much looking forward to seeing Katie & Lauren’s family again as well as meeting all of Robert’s.
But to rewind even a bit further, it was back in 2011 when Lauren and Robert first met. It was the first day of her summer job working as the receptionist for the Park Authority Headquarters. Robert was managing the catering division and they got to know one another on the job. Both being quite shy, it took them months before they got the courage to meet up outside of work… but finally Lauren sent him a text to meet her at a bar after work and when he arrived, she greeted him with a kiss! Lauren said this is totally unlike her and completely out of character, but it just felt right in the moment. Clearly, this worked in her favor as they are going to be married this October at the Rust Manor House in Leesburg, VA. Needless to say, I am looking forward to this fall to celebrate their big day!
