A lot of potential clients coming to my website simply only take the time to review my work — and that’s not a bad thing, because it’s so important that they love my work since photos are the core of why they are hiring me! But I also want to connect with my clients on a deeper level. It’s for this very reason that I put so much time and effort into developing my “About Me” section and for explaining my entire philosophy when it comes to my shooting style, editing style, and more on my “Experience” page. My clients and I work so closely with one another over the year (or more!) of our relationship, so it matters that we share similar interests and values. And I think if anyone read through my blog that they would see how much I care about my clients — I pour myself into their blog post so that others can read and invest in their story just as much as I have!

Joanna and Nico are no exception to that. In fact, they are a great example of clients who I’ve been lucky enough to be part of their lives far and beyond just their wedding day. Their adorable son, Charlie, was born this spring and it’s been such a joy following their journey to parenthood. I found it fascinating how interested Joanna was in the birth process that she began working as a doula shortly after Charlie arrived. As another dual-career woman who is a mother, I have so much respect for the dedication she pours into both her work and family…. which, of course, wouldn’t be possible without her support system in Nico (much like mine in Rob!). Sure, at the core of our relationship, I am their photographer. But I like to think the way we support one another and build each other up that it’s truly so much more than that.
