Martha Stewart Weddings: Tudor Place Wedding Feature

Apr 17, 2019

When one of the amazing editors at Martha Stewart Weddings reached out to me regarding images for an upcoming article on wedding cookies, you can bet I was more than excited to participate! Sure, it’s an absolutely phenomenal resource for brides and grooms to be; with new articles daily, I don’t think you could ever not find inspiration from this incredible resource! But also…. wedding cookies! A tradition that is certainly one of my favorites. I think Chloe, the author of the article, stated it best: “Though cookies aren’t necessarily a novel idea—we’ve seen these sweets on many a wedding dessert spread—they shouldn’t be overlooked. They come in diverse shapes, sizes, and flavors, which means cookies can be transformed to suit any celebration theme (while pleasing hungry wedding guests in the process!). Looking for ways to integrate these treats into your dessert table? Incorporate your color palette by icing your cookies with complementary frosting or ask your baker to create state-shaped bites that pays homage to your event’s location. For a truly sentimental touch, add your wedding date or a custom monogrammed to these mini-confections.”

The cookies that I contributed to the article were the creation of Buttercream Bake Shop in Washington, DC during a shoot we pulled together a few years ago for a Tudor Place wedding. It was a stunning French Provençal affair, complete with every elegant shade of lavender and, of course, lots of wine. The cookies were used as tabletop decor, a little surprise for each guest as they awaited their dinner. Each cookie was individually handcrafted in six different variations, each more beautiful than the last.

Be sure to head over to Martha Stewart Weddings online blog to view all 33 of the incredible wedding cookies HERE! There are some truly unique designs and ideas that I know you’ll want to incorporate for the big day!
