Jess of Bulloss Photography, is someone whose work I have followed for years, but haven’t had the opportunity to meet in person until this past July. She and her husband, Will, were partnered with me to photograph the Creative at Heart Conference in Denver, Colorado! These two are quite the talented pair; they’ve been wedding and portrait photographers for the past three years, but are now taking the leap into professional editing full time. I know from experience that their attention to detail is unmatched and they are sure to be leaders in this new industry. I was so excited to photograph Jess for The Portrait Project because she is one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met; having the chance to capture her beautiful and giving spirit was truly a gift. Get to know a bit more about Jess below and then check out her stunning images!

…I always get complimented on my arms, but my favorite feature is actually my eyes.
…I haven’t always been proud of my nose, but I’m learning to embrace it.
…I feel most confident when I’m comfortable!
The last time I felt truly beautiful…
is tough to describe because I can’t pin it down to a day or minute. I can say, that as I get a little older, I’m feeling more beautiful every day. It’s not really a feeling of physical beauty so much as a growing understanding of how to embrace myself wherever I am in life. In my early twenties, I spent so much time obsessing over the wrong things, but each day, I’m learning to give that up and replace it with feeling beautiful every day — I highly recommend it!
If you could give one piece of advice to other creative business owners, what would it be?
Find YOUR voice, because it’s so easy to loose your personality as you climb the ladder. I give this advice not because it’s something I’ve mastered, but because it’s something I need reminding of every day! Being in a field where there are mountains of competition can be difficult for so many reasons, but one is that often we bend to what others are doing instead of forging our own path. I need daily reminding to be my own leader, and I’m so happy when I see others being brave and doing the same!
