Denise and Neil were married on a beautiful June day in an Army Navy Club wedding in Washington, DC. If I could describe this day in only two words, I would use personal and peaceful.
When getting married in the district, most couples are aware that they could run into any number of road blocks — protests, parades, motorcades, etc — all of which make travel throughout this small city difficult, to say the least. Denise and Neil were married on Juneteenth, which has always been an important day in history, but even more so this year as it had finally been recognized as an official federal holiday just two days prior. Celebrations were bigger than ever, shutting down many of the roads in our surrounding areas. But despite our limo pulling up to the church 30 minutes later than anticipated, I never once saw Denise get upset — from start to finish, she was the epitome of grace and peace no matter what came her way! And the ceremony? It got started right on time — this is why I always recommend hiring a fantastic planner (like Roberts & Co Events!!) who is familiar with the city and pre-plans for events such as these!
Neil and Denise said “I do” at Gonzaga’s St. Aloysius Church, a school previously attended by Neil while growing up. Their ceremony was officiated by his former teacher, who presented in both English and Spanish to accommodate all of Denise’s Guatemalan family attending both in person and via live stream. Neil also served in the US Navy, making their reception venue of the Army Navy Club an even more special location as they celebrated the evening alongside their family and many Georgetown University friends. Each and every element was well thought out and planned to make their big day unique to the two of them. Thank you for allowing me to document this beautiful day alongside your truly wonderful vendor team.
A huge thank you to these vendors for making Denise & Neil’s wedding amazing! And to Photos by Sarah Beth for being an awesome second shooter!
