Flowers…
If you asked me to remember one detail from Maddy and Alex’s Stone Tower Winery wedding, it would certainly have been the flowers. Before each wedding, I have my clients fill our a pre-wedding questionnaire. It covers absolutely everything I need to know for the big day and helps me work with the bride and groom to create an amazing timeline. It also, however, lists out all the vendors that they will be using. No, not just because I’m nosy and like to know, but because I credit all of them in the wedding post for their hard work and so that I am able to send them the images to use on their websites and social media accounts! BUT, if we’re being honest, it does give me a bit of inside into what the wedding day will look like. Having been a Washington, DC wedding photographer for three full seasons, I typically have an idea of who most vendors are at this point. So when I saw “Floral and Bloom” listed as Maddy’s florist, I let out a little squeal! I had previously worked with Rachel, the talent behind this business, on several occasions in the past (including the Downton Abbey wedding shoot at Poplar Springs Inn and Spa and my Leesburg, VA winery wedding last October). She always creates the most beautiful, lush designs and no two are ever the same. I knew Maddy wanted to bring a bit of color to the wedding through her floral arrangements and there was truly no one better suited for the task than Rachel. Everywhere you looked from the bridal bouquet and boutonnieres to the centerpieces and even the cake, beautiful blooms graced your eye.
I wanted to have the opportunity to share the beautiful creations of ALL the vendors who contributed to making this day a success and was so excited when Borrowed and Blue agreed as well! They are showcasing this gorgeous winery wedding today, so please head over to their blog to check it out in full here!
