Margaux and Keith were married on a perfect fall Saturday in the heart of Washington, DC, at the timeless St. Regis hotel. Their love story started the way many modern romances do: on Hinge, of course. But what began with a first date in the loud, dimly lit basement of The Crown and Crow quickly turned into something much more. That night sparked the beginning of their journey together, later cemented by their mutual love of steak (a solid foundation, if you ask me!).
Their wedding day was the definition of classic elegance with a dash of fun, just like the two of them. With the St. Regis as their venue, they were already surrounded by rich history and refined charm, but the celebration truly came to life during their portrait session at the iconic DC War Memorial. Nestled in the heart of the city, the location provided a stunning and monumental backdrop for photos with their wedding party, friends, and family.
After a heartfelt ceremony and dinner, the reception transitioned into one of the most memorable parts of the evening: the speeches. Margaux’s sister, Keith’s best friend, and the father of the bride all took the mic, and each delivered a speech that was personal, funny, and deeply moving. They were filled with stories, shared history, and inside jokes told in such a way that even those hearing them for the first time felt like they were part of the moment. But if there had to be a winner, it might just go to the bride’s dad, Ken. His speech brought the house down, especially when he pulled out a hat with the words “put it on my husband’s tab” sending the crowd into laughter and applause. Sorry, Caroline and Mark, I think Ken may have stolen the show!
All in all, Margaux and Keith’s day was a joyful, unforgettable celebration of love, laughter, and community — the kind of day that often reminds me of exactly why I love being a DC wedding photographer!
