Rebecca and Kevin were married at Rock Hill Plantation in Fredericksburg, VA in a beautiful fall wedding. I was looking forward to this wedding all season not only because these two are a super sweet couple, but because my dear friend, Lauren, of Ginger and Blooms, was going to be doing their flowers! Lauren and I have been lucky enough to work together on several occasions and every time she seems to outdo herself! I’ve also previously worked with Rebecca’s catering staff, R&R, as well as had them at my own wedding.
These two were excited about doing a first look with one another ever since our initial consult, so that was always part of their big day. However, when I arrived on site, Rebecca quietly whispered to me that we might need to move things up a bit as she was quite nervous. We quickly got her dressed and out to see Kevin. As they read their vows alone in private underneath a large oak tree, it was clear the first look had worked it’s magic; Rebecca was now laughing and smiling almost nonstop! The majority of brides, much like Rebecca, never think they are going to feel nerves because after all, they know they are marrying the person of their dreams! But it happens when you least expect and knowing you have a first look to enjoy together can be such a relief. Imagine if she had to wait another 2.5 hours before they could talk! (Read more about the perks of a first look!)
Rebecca & Kevin, I am so grateful that Lauren introduced us! It’s been a joy to get to know the two of you (and your pups) over the last year! I’m going to miss you when you move across the country to San Francisco, but just might have to visit one day!
A huge thank you to these vendors for making Rebecca & Kevin’s wedding amazing! And to Emily Marie Photography for being an awesome second shooter!
