So now that you know you will receive the printing rights to all your digital files, there is the question of how you receive them! All of my images are delivered via a beautiful online gallery system called Pixieset. Your gallery can be shared with friends and family so they can relive your wedding day with you, but it also doubles as a file transfer system so that you can receive your images via digital download!

I completely understand how hard it can be to let go of having a “physical” copy of your digital images on a USB or DVD; but trust me when I say, digital download galleries are so much better! It’s so easy to misplace those tiny USB sticks or scratch a DVD to the point where it’s unreadable. Or what about having to send that back and forth to all your family members so they too can have a copy of your images? Pixieset avoids all that, allowing for unlimited downloads!

Or, if I haven’t sold you yet, think of it this way… let’s say I finish editing your images on a Tuesday at 10:00am. By 10:30am, I can have your images uploaded to Pixieset and in your inbox! If we were going the old USB/DVD, you might not get them until Friday — there is absolutely no waiting and no dealing with the mail. Everything is available to you in an instant!
Side note: I also just realized I totally sound like an infomercial… I wish I could say this was sponsored, but I honestly just love how easy this system is for my clients!

This is what the landing page of your gallery will look like when you receive it. Click on the ‘View Gallery’ button and….

… voilà! It drops you down to your gallery!

If this is a wedding gallery, you’ll notice at the top there are different categories; I break those up for ease of navigation so that everything isn’t just in one spot. You’ll automatically land on the ‘Highlights’ folder that contains a selection of my favorite images from your big day. Don’t worry, all these images are also within their respective folder!

If this is a portrait gallery, you’ll only have one folder so you may not see any categories; this just means all your images are in one place!

From here, you can start scrolling and your images will keep loading. You can navigate the gallery by scrolling all the way to the bottom and hitting the “View More” button or by clicking the categories at the top.

On the far right side of the header bar, you’ll find a few different icons that I will walk  you through as well!

 

 

Cart Icon: First up, the shopping cart icon! From your gallery, you can purchase images, canvases, and albums that are special ordered from professional printing labs. I discuss in full detail how to order prints & products from your gallery in THIS post. The shopping cart icon simply allows you to see what all is in your cart just like an e-commerce site!

 

 

 

Heart Icon: Next is the heart icon; from the main header, this will allow you to see any images you’ve favorited throughout your gallery. As galleries can be shared with friends, family members, and other vendors who can all do the same, you are asked to enter your e-mail address so you can log back in and view your selections at any time. You can create endless folders within your favorites for different purposes — your wedding album favorites, your family favorites, etc.

To favorite an image, simply click on an individual image and hit the heart icon within that photo. Or hover over a photo with your mouse and you’ll see this option pop up at the bottom. 

 

 

 

 

Download Icon: The download icon is next on the list. Click that and your download options will open.

Galleries are pin-code protected, so only people you share that code with can download your images! Images are automatically set to download at high-resolution, so you can ensure you have the largest file size available for any big prints you’d like to create! Select which folder(s) you’d like to download (you’ll find any ‘favorites’ folders listed here as well!) and they will begin downloading to your computer.

If you click on an individual image, you’ll notice this little heart icon. Click that if you want to favorite an image. When you go to download (see image above), you have the option to just download your favorites which is great for someone like a friend who might just want to grab a few dancing pics but not your whole gallery!

 

 

 

Share Icon: The share icon allows you to quickly share your gallery across social media or with friends and family. Please note: By sharing the link, recipients will have access to view your entire gallery and purchase prints.

 

 

 

 

Help Icon: Last, but certainly not least, is the help icon. This will provide resources directly from the gallery host, Pixieset, to assist with any questions I didn’t cover for you here!
