I absolutely loved Jennifer’s spirit from her first e-mail; she has been so excited about every step of the process and it’s just even more special to me when I know how much a bride values photography as part of her wedding experience! Her fiancé, Brenden, was already living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when we started chatting, so I didn’t get to meet him until the day of our session. Based on Jennifer’s description, I knew I would like him just as much as I did her, but getting to see them interact with one another further cemented how perfect these two are for one another.
Brenden and Jennifer are high school sweethearts, which is pretty special and rare these days. They grew up in Northern VA and both attended Virginia Tech after graduating high school. Jennifer was finishing up her Doctors of Physical Therapy degree at VCU when Brenden had to move to Louisiana for a job with ExxonMobil. They had to manage their relationship long distance for a short while, but after being together for 7 years, it was just a small hurdle for these two. It was during a visit when Brenden popped the question to Jennifer — it was Sunday before she had to head home and they were enjoying a walk around University Lake at LSU (where they tell me Pitch Perfect was filmed, no big deal!). He completely blindsided Jennifer as he dropped to one knee at miler marker 3.5 (of 4!) and asked her to be his forever!! She never imagined it would happen on a Sunday before her flight home and was still in shock when she boarded her plane. I love that even at 7 years these two still find new and creative ways to surprise one another and shower each other with love. Their wedding next June will be a day filled with romance and I can’t wait to see all the details they planned to make it special!
