Since I began my career as a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I have been dying to book an Oatlands Plantation wedding in Leesburg, VA. It’s one of those unique spots that is off the beaten path and plays host to a very limited number of weddings per year. They are home to stunning hedged gardens filled with a bit of every flower imaginable, so you can just begin to dream of how wonderful it smells in spring! Instead of waiting, I took matters into my own hands. I reached out to their amazing team and set up a time where I could style a shoot on their property. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful grounds, I designed a French Provence type wedding, filled with lots of cheese, wine and pastries, of course! It’s still one of my all time favorite shoots and just a few months ago, was featured on the world’s largest wedding blog Style Me Pretty.
It’s truly always such an honor to have your work featured once, but having it featured twice almost never gets to happen. So you can imagine my surprise when the lovely Elle, from MODweddings, reached out about sharing these images with her readers in a second feature! It was so exciting to relive the magic of this shoot and know it would be reaching a whole new set of fresh eyes for inspiration. You should head over to MODweddings to see the full feature displayed here! Thanks again, Elle!
And like all features, I could not have done it without the entire team who so kindly dedicated their time and talent to this idea of mine! Please check out each and every one below!
