Before Emily & Max’s sunrise engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial and DC War Memorial, they warned me that they would need quite a bit of coaching to look natural in front of the camera. I assured them not to worry; I work with a variety of clients — many who have never been professionally photographed — so I am used to getting everyone warmed up. These two, however, were definitely underestimating themselves! They slid right into advanced posing within minutes of getting started, and some of those first images from their session in front of the Washington Monument and Reflecting Pool ended up being my favorites! So much so, that I even featured them heavily on my website! So needless to say, Max and Emily are certainly not the least bit awkward when it comes to posing in front of the camera! Their entire session turned out flawless, despite the cold temperatures that morning, and we even had a hint of fall lingering in the beautifully colored trees.
These two are getting married next year at DAR Constitution Hall in the heart of DC, so these portraits at our iconic monuments were a nod to their venue which shares the same classic marble you can find through much of the District. Their big day is being led by Brielle of Brielle Davis events, and between both of their good taste, I’m sure it will be one to remember! And I know for certain that they won’t be the least bit cold since it’ll be the middle of July!
I was so honored when one of my favorite wedding blogs wanted to share their engagement session with their readers to inspire future brides and grooms. Please head over to United with Love to view all of Emily and Max’s Lincoln Memorial engagement session feature!
