Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Kristina & Sean at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC for a sunrise engagement session. It’s currently late April, so you’d think that I’m about to tell you what a beautiful morning we had… but, somehow, unfortunately, it was still bitter cold. We are an entire month into spring and I’ve yet to have one warm session — this has been one of the craziest winters I can remember in a long, long time! In spite of that, luckily, I am able to tell you how I was fortunate to be shooting with an amazing couple who braved the cold weather with zero complaints! Kristina had not one, but two gorgeous dresses from Rent the Runway along with the perfect bouquet from J. Morris Flowers. The winds tried to fight us, but they just made her dresses even dreamier in my opinion!
Kristina and Sean first met four years ago when they went on a blind date — only, Kristina didn’t realize it was a blind date at the time. A few weeks prior, she ran into an old friend who invited her out to happy hour where she met a ton of new people. A day or so later, that same friend texted her that a guy she met at happy hour, Sean, wanted to take her on a date. Kristina, not being very good with names, agreed… and it wasn’t until some point during that first date (that turned into a 4-hour dinner at Jackson’s!) that she found out he was never actually at the happy hour!
I am so excited to be celebrating with these two next January as they set to be married at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, DC and celebrating afterward at the Mayflower Hotel. Fortunately for me, I don’t have to wait until 2019 to see these two again — Sean is the best man at Sarah & Kevin‘s Rixey Manor wedding, so we will reunite then!
