Intimate Washington, DC War Memorial Wedding Elopement

Maggie and Andy tied the knot this spring in an intimate wedding ceremony at the DC War Memorial with their immediate families by their side. Like so many other couples over the past year, this wasn’t always what they had planned for the big day. Originally, they were going to be married last December at the Cosmos Club in DC alongside 200 or so of their friends and family. They ended up pushing back their nuptials a full year to this December, but with so many unknowns still in the air, they ultimately decided it would be safest for them to forgo to the big celebration for the sake of their guests.

This is just one example of the kind of loving, caring people these two are. From the moment I first met Maggie and Andy, I knew they were special — I instantly felt a chemistry with them and was overjoyed when they selected me to be the photographer for their big day. When they gently approached the subject of moving their wedding date, I knew I would do whatever it took to make sure I could still be apart of it.

As I stood by their families that Saturday in May, I could feel I was experiencing something special. I’ve photographed countless micro-weddings over the past 15 months or so, but none as intimate as this. The special touches, the personal speeches, the surprise video from their friends and family — it was clear just how much these two are loved by everyone around them. At one point or another throughout the day, I can honestly say that all of us, myself included, experienced tears of joy in celebration of Maggie and Andy’s love story. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for including me in this wonderful day.
