Emily and Robbie’s wedding at Greenville Country Club in Wilmington, DE was one of those rare, but perfect, July days. I remember e-mailing with Emily about wedding photography before she even landed on a date and discussing how the threat of July thunderstorms were real but that we’d work around it. Well, she assured me she did some thorough research and that it was not going to rain! I’d been thinking about that conversation in the weeks leading up to their day, as I watched the weather with caution.
Saturday arrived with no rain in sight, until I walked downstairs to shoot the reception details before the ceremony began. I noticed a heavy wind rustling the trees, but quickly brushed it off. The bridesmaids lined up for the processional just as sprinkles landed lightly on the shoulders of the guests. And just as quickly as it came, it was gone again. The moment Emily stepped into the aisle, the sun gleamed through the trees as if to wink about the cruel joke the clouds had been playing on her not a moment before. The rest of the night went by even more perfectly than it had been planned. These self-proclaimed “dance-a-holics”, surrounded by their friends and family, barely left the dance floor the rest of the evening. Emily and Robbie, I had such a fantastic time shooting your wedding and let me know when you want to get that slice of pizza! I hope you two are having an amazing honeymoon in the Bahamas!
A huge thank you to these vendors for making Emily & Robbie’s wedding amazing!
