There are so many wonderful things about being a wedding photographer in Washington, DC. This city is overflowing with beautiful architecture, experiences all four seasons, and is full of so much history everywhere you turn. I was so honored to capture Molly & Connor’s engagement session at one of the District’s most famous universities, Georgetown, where these two both attended for their undergraduate studies.

Molly and Connor are both transplants to the District, having come from Massachusetts and Ohio respectively. And while they both attended Georgetown, as I mentioned above, and even overlapped their time on campus for three years, they didn’t meet until they started working on Capitol Hill.

They still live in the city and venture out to Georgetown on occasion to visit the place that brought them both to Washington, DC. Late this October, they had plans to grab a meal with friends in Georgetown, but when they arrived, Molly noticed they were heading to a different restaurant. And not just any restaurant, but Martin’s Tavern. If you’re unfamiliar with this historic venue, it’s where local legend has it that JFK proposed to Jackie O many years ago. Booth Three, the “Proposal Booth” still remains so when Molly saw that’s where they were dining, she knew that this was more than just brunch with friends. Once I heard their story, I found it was only fitting that Connor proposed in the same place as JFK & Jackie O — when you see their photographs below, both of Molly’s outfits gave me complete Kennedy vibes in the best way possible.

It was such a joy to explore Georgetown’s stunning campus with these two. After nearly a decade of photographing weddings, it was my very first time ever visiting. And it certainly did not disappoint! Despite being late November, the trees were still in bloom and full of color. Enjoy a peek at Molly & Connor’s historic Georgetown University engagement session!
