As fate would have it, I met Darcy & Kevin literally days before they got engaged. They were at the wedding of Darcy’s college friends, Matt and Claire, who were married in a Chapel Hill, NC wedding that I photographed in December. The day after the wedding, these two flew down to Texas to spend time with her family and to catch a little football; Kevin’s favorite team, the Jets, were playing in Dallas that weekend and Darcy, having so much family in TX, is a Cowboys fan, so it was the perfectly rivalry game for them. In addition to the game, her family planned to do a few pictures that weekend while everyone was in town; she and Kevin slipped away to take a few photos of their own in the beautiful surroundings of Texas. Unknown to Darcy, he had plans of his own to propose while they had a moment of alone! With the help of her cousin, the entire thing was caught on camera making for some amazing memories. 

This past weekend was one of those rare, beautiful weekends in the middle of February — Sunday called for rain, so we quickly moved their downtown Washington, DC engagement session to Saturday to take full advantage of the amazing weather. The city was crowded with those who had a similar idea to enjoy the nice day, but it was worth fighting the crowds to get some pretty incredible pictures at two iconic locations in the heart of DC. They were complete natural in front of the camera (Darcy has a KILLER model face!) and had amazing chemistry with one another. I had such a blast getting to know them during out session — the whole time I felt like I was just catching up with old friends!

Darcy and Kevin are getting married this winter in sure to be stunning wedding at the Willard InterContinental in DC — her engagement session dress was jaw dropping so I can’t even imagine what she has in store for the big day!
