Chapel Hill, NC Wedding

Claire and Matt’s wedding in Chapel Hill, NC was the perfect way to end the 2015 season. I work with most of my clients over a 1+ year period and develop a strong relationship during that time; these two, however, I have known their family for many years, making this day even more special (Rob is best friends with Matt’s brother, Alex, and even though he has since moved to Denver, CO, they’ve stayed in touch).

North Carolina plays a huge part of Matt and Claire’s story, so it was perfect setting for their big day. These two met in college while attending ECU and after graduation, Matt began a career in law enforcement while Claire started her job in Raleigh. Claire’s maid of honor remembered living in her lawn-chair furnished apartment for a bit while looking for a place of her own and seeing the cute notes Matt would leave behind, telling her how much he loved her, before having to head back to the police academy. He transferred departments as soon as possible so they could truly begin their lives with one another.

Matt’s mom, Karen, runs RSVP Events, an incredible wedding and event planning business in the Northern VA area, so I knew she would create a gorgeous vision for their day at Top of the Hill. Playing off the backdrop of the brewery, there were hints of hops in the boutonnieres, growlers placed as centerpieces, and even a mixing of the grains (wheat, hops, and barley) during the ceremony. At every corner, there was a perfectly coordinated detail bringing life to the venue.

Claire & Matt, it was truly an honor to spend the weekend with your family; you treated us like one of your own and we not only got great pictures, but had a blast celebrating! I hope you have an incredible time in Punta Cana after the New Year!
