I think anyone who has ever met Jordan would immediately know she is a planner, a woman after my own heart. We had her engagement session date on the books for months, both of us anxiously awaiting April so I could finally be introduced to her fiancé, Ridge, in downtown Richmond near their first home. We planned for a sunrise session to avoid the crowded streets and soak in the gorgeous spring light that happens in the AM. As their date finally approached, the dreaded cloud symbol filled the weather forecast. We went back and forth with what to do and, sometimes, despite your best plans, you just cannot avoid the rain! But I’ll tell you what… Jordan and Ridge could not have been happier to just be with one another that morning, laughing and kissing in the rain as if it didn’t bother them one bit because nothing else matter when they were together. Jordan just popped off her heels and threw on her Hunter rain boots and we kept on shooting.
Jordan and Ridge were introduced years before during a night out with friends. They kept things casual for the first few months, but the more they got to know each other, the further their relationship grew. As things got more serious over the years, Ridge knew he wanted to approach Jordan’s dad for permission to marry his daughter — he kindly obliged and from there, Ridge had one more mission: make Jordan’s mother’s old ring part of their new story. Narrowly dodging Jordan, they met at the jewelry store to create a ring she would wear for a lifetime. It was in their basement where he asked her to be his forever, to which she quickly agreed. They will be married this November in Richmond and I cannot wait for their gorgeous fall wedding!
As a side note, I think I’ve become the official photographer for the VCU chapter of Phi Mu and I am certainly not sorry! Jordan, along with two of my past brides, Brittany and Maddy, were both in this sorority as well — all three such stunning, sweet girls that I am so lucky to have met thanks to their sister and my dear friend, Emily!
