Ashlee & Brett’s wedding at Clover Forest Plantation in Goochland, VA was a picture perfect wedding day from beginning to end. It was one of those days when you can tell summer heat is about to break, but you still have the cool breeze of spring lingering and not a single cloud in sky. The weather was absolutely perfect for their outdoor ceremony that was filled with family and friends from both near and far. The pastor kept everyone laughing throughout the ceremony while also sharing his thoughts on love and persistence in marriage. It was one of the rare, but truly magical, ceremonies where you feel such a personal pull to the couple. No cookie cutter vows or words of wisdom here! Everything was tailor made for this sweet pair. 

After the ceremony, these two got to celebrating with their bridal, which, in my opinion, made for some pretty incredible dance moves as they were introduced later that evening! During the reception, the guests were treated to one of the best live bands I’ve heard to date, Cheap Thrills, from Newport News, VA, who got everyone, including the wedding party, on the floor and dancing in no time! 

Before this beautiful Saturday in May, I had previously never heard of Clover Forest Plantation. I drove out there from Northern VA and at certain points had to remind myself that, yes, Alicia, Google Maps knows what it’s doing. This place is certainly out there, but in the best way possible. Once you arrive, you know you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be and that this place was truly MADE for weddings! I love that Ashlee and Brett chose to have a tent for their reception — with the perfect day we had, they could’ve clearly gotten away without it; but you can never be too safe (note to future brides!).
